The Story Behind the Song
What would it have been like to be Jesus where the dove comes down from heaven to him? In this song I thought about what it must have felt like for the softness of its touch? What would his soul been going through? He was heading down a very difficult road, did he struggle to remain at peace? Did he feel connected or tethered to heaven? Was he broken by the thoughts of the fallen creation, sin and humanities pain?
Or was Jesus just floating in a place where he only could hear the voice of his Father and in complete trust? Was he 'tuning in' to a something bigger and better than he, drawing strength to walk the road that this moment was calling him to?
My prayer is that I too can be so safe, still, strong and at peace that the Dove of Heaven will land on me.
