                   Story Behind The Song
Golden Thread was born from a long stretch of road and a quiet season of searching. I wrote it while reflecting on my early days of leaving Alberta as a young adult—driving away from my dad’s driveway, heading down those endless prairie highways, surrounded by wide open skies and seas of golden canola fields. Those roads held a rhythm—the steady pacing of tires on asphalt—that mirrored the movement of my own heart at the time: hopeful, unsure, free, and full of questions.
That rhythm shaped the song itself. The rolling lyrics, rotating chord structure, and looping guitar groove all echo the feel of those Alberta byways. It’s a relaxed, almost hypnotic motion—energetic yet chill—like driving with the windows down, wind in your hair, letting your thoughts wander between past memories and future dreams.
The song was written during a season when I was wrestling with fear, comparison, and doubt—wondering if my voice was enough, if the road ahead would unfold the way I hoped. Looking back, I can see that even in those uncertain moments, God’s truth and love were quietly being woven through everything. That’s the golden thread—steady, faithful, and present through both pain and joy.
Golden Thread is a reminder to look back and notice how God has been weaving all along. It’s an invitation to slow down, remember where you came from, and trust that even the long, winding roads are held together by something deeper—something good.
